Northern Tanzania is a land of superlatives and offers some of the world’s most diverse safari experiences. It should definitely be on everyone’s travel bucket list – especially if you are looking for Big Five game viewing – buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and the rhinoceros.
Serengeti National Park with its annual movement of the Wildebeest Migration is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth. The Ngorongoro Crater will blow you away with its pure magnificence – both with its scenic landscape and its incredible wildlife variety. Their neighbor Tarangire shows off as baobab and elephant empire and is less known, but offers some great game viewing away from the crowds. The Rift Valley lakes Eyasi, Manyara and Natron are home to various tribes with great cultural encounters as well as outstanding walking options.
The most economical safari is a full driving itinerary with your own 4×4 private vehicle and a dedicated driver/guide who will accompany you throughout your Northern Tanzania safari. Activities outside the safari vehicle are limited within the National Parks, however, there are various options along the way.
