Ruins & Spice Farm

Pemba Island has a lot of historical ruins which are, however, quite overgrown. It is possible to visit Jambangome ruins, which are the remains of the first settlements on Pemba; or the ruined palace of Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, who ruled Pemba prior to the arrival of the Portuguese in the late 15th century. Afterwards visit one of the many spice farms to experience the true smells and taste of Pemba Island.
